Zinc provides an effective protective coating for steel (galvanized coatings) and is useful as an alloying agent. Zinc tests are used to regularly check the plating baths in metal plating industry. Zinc salts are useful as corrosion inhibitors in cooling water treatment formulations. Here, the Zinc concentration is checked to ensure an optimal process.
